We're hiring a Supply Chain Manager - OEM Battery Manufacturing at AMEC Technology.
Industry: OEM – Battery Manufacturing (Li-ion / Lead-acid / Industrial Batteries)
Key Responsibilities
1. Procurement & Vendor Management
- Develop and manage domestic and international suppliers for raw materials, components, and packaging.
- Procure lithium cells, lead materials, BMS components, plates, separators, electrolytes, plastics, and hardware as per specifications.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, credit terms, and SLAs for cost efficiency.
- Identify alternate vendors to avoid single-source dependency.
- Track supplier performance—quality, delivery, compliance, and corrective actions.
2. Inventory & Material Planning
- Plan raw material, WIP, and finished goods inventory based on sales forecasts and production schedules.
- Maintain safety stock levels and optimize reorder points for critical materials.
- Implement inventory control systems like ABC, FIFO, JIT, and Min–Max planning.
- Prevent material shortages, excess stock, and inventory write-offs.
3. Production Planning & Control (PPC)
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly production plans aligned with customer orders and plant capacity.
- Ensure timely material availability as per BOM and production requirements.
- Coordinate with QA, Production, and Sales to align demand and supply.
- Monitor production adherence and highlight bottlenecks to stakeholders.
4. Logistics, Warehousing & Distribution
- Oversee inbound logistics, including customs clearance and transportation of hazardous materials (if applicable).
- Manage outbound logistics to OEMs, distributors, and warehouses.
- Optimize freight, routes, and load planning to reduce logistics costs.
- Ensure warehouse efficiency—binning, stacking, safety, cycle counts, and dispatch planning.
5. Compliance & Safety
- Ensure adherence to BIS, ARAI, DGFT, GST, hazardous material handling, and battery manufacturing regulations.
- Maintain documentation for regulatory and internal audits (Vendor, ISO, PCB, Safety).
- Implement safety standards for handling lithium cells, chemicals, and lead-based components.
6. Cost Optimization & Process Improvement
- Reduce supply chain costs through process improvements and automation.
- Conduct make-vs-buy evaluations and cost-benefit analyses.
- Optimize working capital through efficient inventory management and cash cycle improvements.
7. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with R&D for new product development and BOM finalization.
- Align with Sales for demand forecasting and delivery commitments.
- Coordinate with Finance for budgeting, costing, and commercial negotiations.
